About ROTLANG WEST LOCAL

For the period of February to December 2025, the Lungsen Section Mission Department engaged Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala of Zion Local, Venghlun, Lunglei as a Home Missionary. His assigned field of service was designated as the Chhumkhum Area, comprising Chhumkhum, Phairuangkai, and Rotlang West. Rotlang West is a village of around 150 households where the UPC Church had never been established before.

On April 6, 2025 (Sunday), for the first time, under the organization of Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala and in joint collaboration with Phairuangkai Local and Chhumkhum Local, an open-air service was conducted. Services were held during both day and evening, where Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala proclaimed the oneness of God/the Deity of Jesus and the Covenant of Salvation. Since there was no base or place to readily stay, the team temporarily returned.

On April 11, 2025 (Friday), Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala returned to reside there. To find a place to stay, he contacted a person over the phone whose name and number he had obtained, despite having never known or met them before. After seeking permission to stay at their home and coming to an agreement, he set out to stay on-site alongside Chhumkhum Local Chairman Upa Zodingliana, with both bringing their own provisions of rice and foodstuff.

Thus, engaging people wherever possible, sharing the Word of God in the streets and in private homes, their relentless efforts carrying the Lord's Covenant began to work in people's hearts. On the afternoon of April 13, 2025 (Sunday), to become the very first UPC members in Rotlang West, the host family of Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala—Sis. Nundami and her four family members (Sis. Nundami, Rosy Lalhruaitluangi, Irin Laltlansangi, and Alex Remlalpuia)—were officially welcomed from the BBC Church in the name of the Lord Jesus. In this welcoming service, Lungsen Section Pastor Pc. Zion Rammawia officially received the new members, and Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala delivered the sermon. The service was attended by Lungsen Section Mission Department Office Bearers and members of Phairuangkai Local.

Prior to this welcoming service, out of nearly 14 people who had initially expressed willingness to join, most backed out due to various reasons. However, Sis. Nundami and her family of four courageously decided to hold fast to the Lord's Covenant, which is truly commendable. Following the service, fellowship and spiritual discussions were held, through which the Lord blessed the church with 5 additional members from the Believers Church. Pastor Pc. Zion Rammawia officially welcomed them at their home, after which he administered baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins to the 5 members at the Phairuangkai River. Amidst much opposition and hardships, the Lord did not cease to gain ground. On April 17, 2025 (Thursday), Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala welcomed 2 more members in the name of the Lord Jesus.

For some time, remaining as a small group of members, they stood faithfully for the Lord and the Church amidst loneliness, contempt, ridicule, laughter, and mockery. Their faithfulness bore good fruit and deeply moved people's hearts. However, due to various local difficulties and minor disturbances in the community, active outreach was briefly stalled. Subsequently, during November 17–23, 2025, under the initiative of the Section Mission Department and with the approval of the District Revival Committee, the Maranatha Revival Team led by Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala conducted an Outreach Crusade and open-air services. The Lord blessed their ministry, adding several new members to the fold.

Amidst opposition and competition for members, the Lord willed to establish His kingdom. The Home Missionary continued to reside there, giving his utmost to the outreach work, and the Lord continually added new members. On November 30, 2025 (Sunday), upon receiving approval from Lunglei District Headquarters, Lungsen Section Pastor Pc. Zion Rammawia officially established UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, Rotlang West as a Preaching Point with 33 members.

The Church leadership was appointed as follows:

ChairmanRbt. C.Lalhriatzuala, Home Missionary.
Vice ChairmanRbt. Malsawma
SecretaryRbt. Lalmuantluanga
TreasurerRbt. Lalawmpuia
Lay Preacher / MinisterMuktirai

Home Missionary Rbt. C. Lalhriatzuala utilized an unoccupied house under construction as his residence, where church services were regularly held and spiritual discussions were conducted whenever opportunity arose. The Lord continued to grant new members. On December 7, 2025 (Sunday), services for welcoming new members, child dedication, and baptism were held again, bringing the current total to 41 UPC members in Rotlang West.
