The UPC Lunglei District Literature & Publication Board was established on September 24, 1979, and was initially named the 'Literature Committee.' The first leaders were:
- Chairman: Rev. HL. Ruata, District Pastor
- Secretary: Rev. H. Chalchhunga, District Secretary/ Treasurer
- Members:
- Rev. Lalthima
- H. Hrangchhuana
- R. Kawlthuama
- Evan. CH. Rongaia

During this period, major initiatives were not extensively carried out. The District Literature Committee was reorganized in 1987. This Committee subsequently established clear operational guidelines and goals (Aims & Objectives).
To date, the Literature & Publication Board has published over 70 books. Formerly known as the Literature Committee, its name was changed to 'District Literature & Publication' following a request from the Literature Committee, as approved by resolution No. 7 of the 211th District Board meeting.
Among its major endeavors, it publishes two District PCD study guides annually and has produced up to three volumes of church history. Additionally, it regularly publishes works written by individual authors.
