About LUANGMUAL SECTION
LUANGMUAL SECTION HISTORY AND RECORDS
Regarding the establishment of Luangmual Section, the 34th Lunglei District UPC Conference held on February 27, 1999 at Venglai Local UPC Church passed Resolution No. 3 as follows: ‘A proposal was received stating, "Let Headquarters Section be bifurcated, and a Pastor be stationed at Luangmual." After allowing the agenda proposers to explain, the matter was deliberated. Upon careful consideration, it was passed that Headquarters Section be divided as per the agenda. The demarcation of the Section boundaries and its jurisdiction is left to the District Board.’
As entrusted to the District Board regarding boundary demarcation and coverage, the 121st District Board held on March 1, 1999 at Headquarters Church passed Resolution No. 5 as follows: ‘As the 34th District Conference resolved that Luangmual, Lunglei be made the Section Centre to open a new Section with boundaries decided by the District, deliberations were made. The jurisdiction of Luangmual Section shall comprise Luangmual, Zaia Veng Lunglawn, Thangte, Vaisam, Chithar, Thangpui, and Sethlun.’
It was decided that instead of posting a separate Pastor immediately, Rev. PR. Dawla, District Mission Director, would oversee Luangmual Section for the remaining period of 1999.
It was resolved that the new Section be inaugurated on April 1, 1999, with an inaugural service held on Sunday, April 4, 1999 at Luangmual Church led by District leaders, and Section leaders to be appointed by the Section Board at the earliest convenience.
On April 6, 1999, the leadership of the new Luangmual Section was formed at Luangmual Local UPC Church. District Superintendent Rev. Chalchhunga attended, while designated Section Pastor Rev. PR. Dawla chaired the session. Elder JF. Malsawma of Luangmual recorded the minutes, with Elder Hrangthantluanga (Luangmual), Elder Hrangchungnunga (Lunglawn Zaia Veng), and Bro. Hruaikhawma present. In this first formation meeting, Elder Thanghrima of Luangmual Local was elected as Section Secretary/Treasurer. The Section Missions Department, Section Pentecostal Youth Department (PYD), Section Ladies Auxiliary Department (LAD), and Section Sunday School Department were established immediately, while the Section Pentecostal Children Department (PCD) was formed later on January 8, 2009 along with the 2009–2010 leadership.
From the establishment of Luangmual Section until now, God has blessed us with seven (7) dedicated Section Pastors who deeply love the Section. We are also privileged and thankful to have had many committed Section Office Bearers (Secretaries and Treasurers) who sacrificed their time and energy. Since inception, our Section has maintained systematic financial management and budgets up to the present year (2025), distributing Tithing and Rice Offerings (Buhfaitham) targets received from the District to various Locals according to their capacities. Furthermore, to maintain financial integrity, the Treasurer accounts have been audited twice annually since 1999, and comprehensive Section guidelines were printed in booklet form in 2020 and remain in active use today.

2. PASTOR QUARTERS
The 1st UPC Luangmual Section Board (Resolution No. 4) held at Luangmual Local Church decided to pursue a site for the Pastor Quarters, appointing Rev. PR. Dawla (Section Pastor), Elder Thanghrima (Secretary/Treasurer), Elder Hrangthantluanga (Chairman, Luangmual Local), and Elder JF. Malsawma (Secretary/Treasurer, Luangmual Local). A Quarters Target of Rs. 7,500 was set for 1999, distributed among Luangmual (Rs. 2,000), Lunglawn (Rs. 1,500), Thangte (Rs. 1,000), Vaisam (Rs. 500), Section LAD (Rs. 1,500), and Section PYD (Rs. 1,000). Ministers contributed an initial Rs. 100 each towards this target.
In 2000, another Quarters Target of Rs. 15,000 was set across Locals. The committee reported purchasing a land plot (16m x 23m) near the 2nd Bn. MAP Luangmual for Rs. 45,000, approved in the 2nd Section Board on December 3, 1999. On January 14, 2000, the 3rd Section Board approved constructing a 36ft x 16ft Quarters and constituted the first Building Board.
Chairman: Rev. PR. Dawla, Section Pastor
Secretary/Treasurer: Evan. F. Khualluta, Lunglawn Zaia Veng
Members: Elder J. Laltanpuia (Luangmual), Elder Hrangthantluanga (Luangmual), Elder LH. Vanlalawia, Elder Hrangchungnunga (Lunglawn Zaia Veng), Elder JF. Malsawma (Luangmual).
Subsequently, the 1st Luangmual Section Conference (Resolution No. 1) separated the Secretary and Treasurer roles for the Building Board, appointing Elder LH. Vanlalawia as Secretary.
Through the efforts of the Building Board and contributions from local churches, the quarters was completed. Occupancy began on October 6, 2000, followed by a dedication service on October 7, 2000 attended by local ministers and section department leaders. Remaining construction debts, electrical connection costs, and door installations were cleared through target contributions and individual board member donations of Rs. 50 each.
Due to lack of main road access and distance from the church building, the 35th Section Board on June 11, 2005 decided to seek a new location, appointing Rev. C. Zohmingliana, Rev. Lianhranga, and Elder R. Lalrumliana to inspect potential sites. After persistent follow-ups—including three trips to Aizawl by Section Pastor Rev. C. Zohmingliana to meet the Chief Minister and State Ministers—area MLA Pu S. Laldingliana officially handed over the current PWD Chowkidar Quarters site on November 9, 2009 in the presence of local VC and YMA leaders.
Construction of the new Quarters began promptly. Rev. C. Zohmingliana laid the foundation stone on November 18, 2009, accompanied by a section-wide voluntary work day (hnatlang). The District contributed Rs. 2,15,000 alongside roofing materials. Rev. C. Zohmingliana managed construction while Section Secretary Elder H. Rohmingliana assisted. Total expenditure reached Rs. 3,00,000. Construction was finished in April 2010, and District Superintendent Rev. R. Lalrosanga dedicated the building on April 23, 2010. Incoming Pastor Rev. C. Hmingthanfala moved in upon arrival on April 28, 2010.
Further improvements continued under successive leadership. From 2011 to 2023, annual Quarters budgets were maintained to upgrade facilities. Annual allocated budget amounts include:
